We started out our week in
PDO with some clouds and rain, but it gave way to what happen to be a beautiful
day in PDO. This group plays so well
together that today we did a lot of playing and just learning and exploring
with our friends. We started a new
number 3, a new shape the circle, a new color orange and continued to learn
about Noah and the letter E.
Jesus Time: Today we continued our story about Noah and this is
what we learned today….
Genesis 6
Many years later there were lots of people on the Earth, but
most of them were bad. One man-Noah-was
good. He obeyed God. “I want you to build a boat, God told
Noah. Noah started right away. People laughed at Noah because they lived in
a desert and there was no water for the boat.
Noah just went on building the boat.
We had the opportunity during free choice play to play with some
Noah’s ark and all the animals he put inside them.
We also water colored a picture of Noah and his ark with all his
animal friends.
Number: Number three is what we are studying this month. We practiced making the number three with our
fingers this is good practice for our finger and hand muscles. We practiced counting to three and looking at
what the number three looks like.
During center time today we practiced our cutting skills cutting
out the numbers 1-2-3 and pumpkins that correlated to the numbers and matching
them up and gluing them on a piece of orange paper.
Shape: We are learning about a circle this month. We learned that there is no beginning and end
to a circle and that we can think of many things that look like a circle.
During center time we got to use circle stamps and an orange ink pad
to make a circle collage on our paper.
Letter: We are continuing our study about the letter “E” this
week. We learned about different words that begin with the letter E, such as
Elephant, every, our Friend Evan’s names starts with E, excited, exactly, egg
and emotion.
Our center activity we used bingo daubers to decorate the letter
E.
Color: Orange is our
color of the month. So we spent time
during morning meeting identifying different things that were orange.
We painted a picture of a pumpkin today the color orange. .
Music and Movement: We practiced clapping our hands, jumping and
turning around, and getting silly during the silly dance contest. WE are also learning the finger play 5 Little
Pumpkins
