Last Tuesday of September

It is hard to believe that it is the last week of September and that we are on review week of our color, shape, number and our Jesus story.  We are offically into the school year and the end of the first quarter is sneaking up on us.  We have spent the month of September learning about the color red, studying the shape of and Octagon that has 8 sides, counting the number 2.  We have had fun learning about apples and the season of Fall and learning about the first few letter of the Alphabet.  Our Jesus time has been spent learning about how God created the world in Seven days and what an awesome world he has created for us.  We have been blessed with some beautiful weather this month and hope that it continues through out the month of October.  We are working hard on learning the rules of the classsroom and learning to show God's Love to all of our friends that enter our classroom. We have had new friends join us this month and are excited to see what the month of October brings us.

Free Choice:  Today during our Free Choice time we listened to some Autumn Classical Music and explored our classroom and all it has to offer us.  We had fun playing a variety of toys in the classroom.  This will be the last week for the toys we have in our classroom next week new and exciting things will be in our room to experience and explore.

Morning Meeting: We spent doing calendar, Mr. Weather Frog, reviewing our study of the number 2, the shape of an Octagon and the color Red.  Today instead of doing our color board we charted what we had on that was red.    This week our letter journey has sent us to the letter E.   We continued to work on our red and green pattern of apples and we had fun singing our ABC's.  We read a book about Clifford's First Autumn.  We concluded with our snack prayer and getting our eyes checked by the Lyons Club.

Jesus Time:  Today we learned what God created on the sixth day, which was animals and people like him  and then on the seventh day he said all was good and rested.   When he was done he said that this was GOOD!  We began our Jesus Time with singing our Read the the Bible Song, we then read our Bible Story and then worked on continuing to learn the words to THE BIBLE and JESUS LOVES ME.  We concluded our Jesus time with the following echo prayer:  Dear God, Thank you for creating the world we live in in seven days and for keeping us safe, in  your name we pray, Amen.  We then played a Creation Matching Game where we had to match the correct day wit each day that God created.

Outside:  It is amazing the beautiful weather we are having and I feel that outdoor play and a good dose of Vitamin D does a body good big or little so we spent a rather long time outside.  I was not sure if we would get outside with as cloudy as it was today, but we got lucky and are thankful for the nice weather.

Circle Time:  We had a rough time when we came inside from being outdoors so after we went potty and washed our hands we sat and listened to different sounds and tried to identify them. Ask our child what different types of sounds they heard today.  We then did a flannel board story about Apple Happy that was about some of our feelings and emotions.

Center time we focused on doing the next few pages in our creation book that will becoming home in a few weeks. We had fun water coloring a picture of fall that will join our other pictures on the wall to help us welcome in the fall season.  We also spent time today working on our number books that will becoming home at the end of the year.  Today we stamped one blue fish in the ocean and Two red crabs on the beach.  We also had fun using the scissors and cutting strips of red paper to glue onto an apple.  Some of my friends are working on just learning how to hold the scissors and others need help opening and closing them and a few of my friends are able to cut all on on their own.  This is a skill that we will work on a lot through out the course of the year.  Some of us started working on an apple pattern of red apple green apple.  Our center time takes us sometime to get through so if your child attends on multiple days they may not do all the centers on one day.  As the year progress' this will change and more centers will be done and added .

Music and Movement:  We had a little time for some Music and Movement we did Five Day's Old, Five Little Ducks and The Wheels on the Bus.  We ended our Music and Movement time with a book about a baby bear gettting ready for winter and wanting a snack from the Apple Tree, and then needed drink of water and the moon to help him sleep.

Enjoy viewing the pictures from our Day!
