SANTA IS
COMING!! Yep, that was what we heard
today during our Free Choice Play, not sure what prompted the Santa fascination. But that along with Super Heroes trying to
save the world and leave Santa some cookies and tomatoes it made for a very
interesting day in our classroom!
We had fun
finishing up our study of the color yellow, the number 8, the shape of a
rectangle and talking about Jesus Praying in the Garden. We also worked on some clouds and sun to add
to our duck project that is displayed in our classroom currently. Next week we will start a new color,
number, shape and will make our own storyboard of Five Little Ducks and talk
about Easter.
We are working
really hard at using loving hands, not touching our friends and remember that
we only hug our friends it is not nice to push, hit, kick or knock our friends
down. We are also spending time working
on using our listening ears and making sure that when the clean up music comes
on that everyone is helping clean up the room.
Enjoy reading
about our day!
Jesus Time: This
week's Bible story comes from Matthew, Mark and Luke.
Taken from Read and Share Bible:
Jesus prays for help
Jesus and His followers went straight from dinner to a
quiet garden. Jesus wanted to pray and ask God to make Him strong
for what was about to happen. He took three of His closest followers-
Peter, James, and John- with Him. Jesus asked them to wait and pray.
He went a little farther into the garden so that He could pray
by Himself. It was very late, and the three men were very tired.
They couldn't keep their eyes open to pray. Soon they were
asleep. Jesus woke them twice, but they went back to sleep each time.
When we have tough things ahead of us, we need to pray and
ask God to help us.
Number: We reviewed the
number 8 today. We looked at the number
8 and how it looks like to circles on top of each other. We counted 8 Easter Eggs in an Easter Basket
to help us with counting the number 8.
Today we stamped 8 shamrocks for our counting book that will
becoming home in May. We did this
activity during our center time.
Shape: We continue to
work on the shape of a rectangle. We
talked about how the door to our classroom is the shape of a rectangle. We also found other things in our classroom
that were shaped like a rectangle we charted about what we found. We did a great job finding lots of different
things that were a rectangle!
Color: Yellow is the color we learned about during the month of
March. We reviewed the color yellow by
looking at different things on our yellow board and charting what we had on
that was yellow
During Free Choice Time we had the opportunity to make a sun for
our Duck Pond and our Spring Board using contact paper and yellow tissue paper.
Music and Movement: We sang Jesus Loves Me, and our ABC’s and
sang Five Little Ducks, Shake your Body Down, Head Shoulder Knees and Toes,
Five Days Old, Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee and The Wheels on the Bus.
Outside Time: it was way to wet and soggy for us to enjoy the
playground this morning so we headed to the commons to play with our other
friends in PDO. I pray good weather will
come our way soon so we can get outside and play on the big playground as well
as our playground
Patterning: We started a
new pattern today of pink and purple bunnies.
Sensory and Science led us to the sensory table where we
discovered Easter Grass and lots of plastic Easter Eggs that we had to match
together. We talked about how it was
chilly outside and that we need to still wear our jackets and coats and that
Spring time can be an up and down of cold and warm days. We had fun with play dough with Easter cookie
cutters.
Enjoy the pictures of today!
