The First Goodbyes:(

AND SO IT BEGINS……

This time of year is always bittersweet for me I am excited for the summer season and to spend time soaking in the sunshine, going to the pool, watching baseball and spending time with my family, but I am also so sad that I have to say goodbye to my little friends and to those that will be moving on to Preschool or to other schools.  Today we said goodbye to Naomi and Joseph Bell.  Blessings to you both as you begin your adventures at new schools next year.  Our last Thursday class and we went out in style and had so much fun!  God graced us with some beautiful weather so we took full advantage of the weather and played outside for a super long time!   We had a pretty loose schedule today filled with some activities but mostly we finished wrapping up things for our portfolio's that will becoming home on your child's last day of school.  

REMINDER THAT NEXT WEDNESDAY IS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.  

SCHOOL WILL RESUME IN AUGUST ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17 for the 2016-2017 SCHOOL YEAR

Today we listened to music by Michael Buble today and moved around the room exploring and playing with our friends.  

FREE ART

Today we got out some long paper and rolled it out on the table taped it down and to the crayons, scissors, colored paper, glue sticks and stickers out and got creative.  My friends were very busy for a good 45 minutes just creating whatever they wanted and they made some amazing things. We hung our art work out in the hallway for our friends still going to school to enjoy.   We were able to work on our fine motor skills (cutting with Scissors, writing, coloring, peeling stickers), cutting skills (using the scissors) and prewriting skills(coloring and drawing).  

FINAL PAGE IN OUR PORTFOLIO

Each child on their last day in my class will make a special page in their portfolio to help them remember what a special time we had in class together.  Joseph and Naomi made their final pages in their portfolios that went home today with their number books, alphabet books and name books!  Blessings to Joseph and Naomi! 

KITE MAKING

Mrs. Wegener and our friends worked on making a picture using the watercolor kites we had left over from last week.  First we colored a picture of ourselves so we had to tell Mrs. Wegener if we were our boy or girl. This is something we have worked on through out the year as well.  After we colored our person we glued them on a piece of paper along with our kite and some string.  We then glued 10 cotton balls onto our Kite to help us with counting to 10.

FRIENDS

Over the course we have made lots of friends and some friends have become great buddies!  

HAPPY THURSDAY! 

One last Thursday with our Thursday Friends!  Mrs. Wegner and I have truly had a wonderful time with these beautiful gifts from God they have brought us many hugs, love and laughs!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's education they all hold a special place in our hearts and will miss them dearly. 

Our morning meeting consisted of calendar, weather frog, counting to 10, singing the rainbow song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to help us remember the shape of a diamond.  We had fun reading a book about if Dinosaurs still were alive and how helpful they would be in our everyday lives.  We had fun singing our ABC's and doing our pattern of purple and yellow dinosaurs.  We ended our Morning Meeting with The Johnny Appleseed Prayer and then we waited for our name to be called and we had to tell Mrs. Horn how old we were.

JESUS TIME 

Today we talked about how after Jesus went back to heaven how his followers went about spreading the good word of Jesus.  We sang one our favorite songs Zaccheaus and praying for our family and friends.  

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT

Today we did some oldies but goodies and had so much fun singing and dancing 

with our friends.  We did Shake Your Body Down, Dinosaur Chomp, We are the 

Dinosaurs and Five Days Old.  I will miss our dance parties on Thursdays they were some of my favorite times with these friends.

OUTSIDE TIME 

We played outside for a really long time today.  We love being outside with our friends from the other classes and some of us were able to see our siblings.  

There has been a bird nest on our playground up kind of high.  Today I took a picture of it so our friends could see the eggs that were in the nest. 

CIRCLE TIME 

We came inside and read a book called Foggy goes the Doctor and then we sang a few more of our favorite songs and did our dinosaur flannel board story.  We then watched Good Night Moon on the television. It was then time for one more story about Grover going to school and for us to pray and get ready for lunch.  

One final time as the Thursday crew stands in line getting ready for lunch.  

What  a wonderful day we had in our classroom.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and blessings to Joseph and Naomi on a great summer and on your new adventures in the next school year.
