ROARING INTO WEDNESDAY!

Welcome to Wednesday!
It is hard to believe that the month of May has arrived and a few short weeks we will be on Summer Break.  We are going to spend the month of May learning about dinosaurs, learning about the number 10, reviewing the colors of the Rainbow and the shape of a Diamond.  We will continue to work on the letters of our name and learning the word of God as we study Ascension and Pentecost.  We had lots of new things in our classroom to explore and play with.

REMINDER LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS WEDNESDAY, MAY 23, 2016

Free Choice
Today we worked on lots of fine motor skills as practiced putting dry pasta noodles into old spice containers, working on OREO Shaped puzzles and linking little people together to make a family.

PLAYING, READING, LEARNING & EXPLORING
We had new dinosaurs to play with, a new princess castle and we had lots of fun looking at books and grilling on the grill.  We also enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music and viewing different fish on the t.v.

MOTHER'S DAY GIFTS
Some of our friends finished up their special Mother's Day presents today.  I hope all our moms have a wonderful Mother's Day and are pampered and loved to the fullest.

COUNTING 10 FLOWERS
We finished our Number Counting book as we stamped 10 red flowers into the meadows.  We then used a green crayon to draw stems and leaves on our flowers.  We will be bringing home our Number Counting books the last week of school.

BLOCK BUILDING
We have really enjoyed building with the wood blocks the past couple of weeks.

MORE EXPLORING AND PLAYING
Our friendships have grown over the school year as well as our play skills.  Lots more imaginative play is taking place and our sharing with our friends is continuing to grow each day we attend school.

BINGO DAUBER
We used a brown bingo dauber today to decorate a triceratops as we begin our study on Dinosaurs.  We have been using bingo daubers through out the school year to work on our fine motor skills, self control skills and pre-writing skills.

TRACING THE LETTERS OF OUR NAME
Today we used the markers to work on tracing the letters of our name.  We have been focusing on this skill more this year and especially the last few months of  school.  A name portfolio will be coming home on the last day of school to show the progress your child has made on Name development.  This is just an introduction to their name, there was not expectation of any of our friends to be able to write their name on their own just a way to expose them to the letters of their name and what their name looks like.

MORNING MEETING
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
We had a morning meeting counting 10 dinosaurs, making the shape of a diamond with our hands, dressing Mr. Weather Frog for the cool spring weather, learning a new pattern and reading a book about different Dinosaurs and stomping their way through the land to eat lunch

Jesus Time
Today we spent Jesus' time singing our opening song, talking about Jesus going to heaven, but even though he is in heaven behind the clouds we can always talk and listen to Jesus because he lives in our hearts forever.  We sang Jesus Loves Me and continued to practice praying.

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
We had fun reveiwing our Rainbow Song, Driving the Fire Truck and learning a new song to go along with our Dinosaur Theme called 10 LITTLE DINOSAURS

OUTSIDE PLAY
WOW! We had beautiful weather today to enjoy with our friends.

CIRCLE TIME
After we came inside and washed our hands we read a book about a little boy and his imaginary DINOSAUR Train, we then learned a new flannel board story about 5 Little Dinosaurs

Center Time
We spent time painting different dinosaurs with our favorite colors.  Our colorful dinosaurs will be hanging in the hallway for you to view.  We have really enjoyed painting this year and some of us have really come a long way with our painting skills.

DINOSAUR COUNTING & COLOR BOOK
This week we worked on our counting skills as we used different crayons to color our dinosaurs.  These books will be coming home this week for your child to read and share with you.  We worked on our counting skills 1-6 and identifying colors, red, blue, yellow, green, brown and purple.  We also worked on our pre-writing skills as we practiced coloring the different types of dinosaurs.

MORE PLAY

CIRCLE TIME
We ended our time together today with a book about 10 Little Dinosaurs and learning a new prayer before we have snack and lunch.

We had a great time today and enjoyed some beautiful weather with beautiful friends.  Have a wonderful evening and blessings to you all.
