Welcoming New Friends
Today we welcomed a new friend to our class Aryan. Aryan will be joining us on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. My friends did not disappoint either they were great friends helping Aryan learn about the classroom and showing him how we do things they were being great servants to God! We are continuing to learn about the number 3, the color orange, the shape of a circle and the story of Noah. We talked this week about the letter H and practiced making the sound the letter H makes. We had fun playing outside and enjoying the beautiful weather we continue to have and we made some more leaves to put up on our tree that we have been busy getting ready as we learn about the season of Fall and Halloween. We ended our week on a positive note and I am looking forward to next week as we will be wrapping up our October studies and in getting ready for Halloween.
Enjoy reading and viewing our day and see what we have been busy doing. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at hhorn@zionharvester.org
Free Choice Time
Today we listened to some Christian Rock Music and enjoyed getting to our new friend and playing in the classroom. As usual the play dough table was a popular place to be this morning. Play dough is a great way to work on our creativity and to work on strengthening our hands and fingers. Many of my friends have enjoyed rolling out the play dough to make "worms' or "snakes." We had fun making different Halloween shapes and talking about what they were.
Sensory Table
We currently have white beans in our sensory table that we are enjoying! We are working on our pouring and scooping techniques and looking for hidden gems in the beans. We are also working really hard at keeping the beans in the table and not dumping them all over the floor.
Transportation Toys
We are big cars, trucks and train fans in this class. We love building train tracks on the train table. Building different tracks help us work on our problem solving and math skills as we have to work to figure out how they go together and what will work to make the trains go around on it.
Morning Meeting
Happy Thursday!
All of the morning meeting pictures are at the bottom of this blog I could not get them to move around I apologize.
Snack Time
Remember your child needs to have a snack and a lunch each day they attend. We have snack at 9:30-9:45 and we eat lunch at 12:00. Please make sure your child has a drink in a sippy cup or has a juice box for both snack and lunch as well. All items need to be labeled with their name on it please do so with tape or a marker.
Lining up to head outside.
Painting Outside
We had fun painting on a big piece of paper outside today with the other PDO classes. It was something new and different and some of my friends really enjoyed doing it.
Center Time
We had fun painting yellow leaves to hang up on our tree. Be sure and check out our tree when you come in the classroom next week as well as the hallway to our classroom to see some of the fun centers we have been busy working on.
Bingo Daubers
We used an orange bingo dauber today to work on our fine motor skills and self control skills. We had to use the bingo dauber and place it in each circle as we traced a heart shape that had a squirrel in it to help us get ready to learn more about the season of Fall.
Counting to Three
We had making a number book. We had to count to three as we had to stamp orange jack o'lanterns on our page with a scarecrow.
Music and Movement
Today we continued to work on singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and our finger play for Five Little Pumpkins ask your little one if they can do any of our Five Little Pumpkins.
Transition/Lunch Time
Some of my friends are getting really good at recognizing their names. This activity is a great way for us to work on that and start learning some of the letters of our names.
Morning Meeting Activities
Calendar we talked about what would be next and that today had two number two's on the square

Letter H is what we learned about this week. We have been working hard in our Alphabet books that will becoming home at the end of the school year in May.
Our pattern that my friends are doing really well at saying jack o'lantern and candy corn. Next week we will have a center devoted to this pattern.
Our Story for the end of Morning Meeting was about Clifford when he was a puppy and going to meet a scarecrow that he was not sure if he was really scary or not.
Jesus Time
We have been learning about Noah this month and today we learned that after Noah built the big boat called an ark he had to get all the animals into the ark two by two before God sent the big rains. During our Center time we have been working on a special Noah book that is paired with our Jesus time. We are also working hard on learning the songs The B-I-B-L-E and Jesus Loves Me. Our Prayer for today was Dear God, Thank you for the beautiful weather and for helping Noah, in your name we pray Amen.
Circle Time Story
We had fun acting out the different parts to this silly story and had fun seeing what sounds we were going to have to do next.
End of Music and Movement Book
This was a great book to read to help us learn what the Fire Bears do and how they and firemen can always make us feel safe!
I hope you have enjoyed reading and seeing what we have been busy doing all day. Blessings on a fabulous weekend and can not wait to see you all next week!
