Happy Wednesday

This is our short week here at Zion.  There is no school on Thursday and Friday for PDO- 8th Grade due to parent teacher conferences.  PDO does not hold Parent Teacher conferences.  I have emailed you all at the beginning of the school year to let you know how your child was doing and over the course of the next few weeks I will email all of you to let you know how your child is doing.  It is hard to believe that we are into the second quarter of the school year.  We are continuing our study of the number 3, the shape of a circle, the color orange and the story of Noah.  Our theme of fall and Halloween is talked about through out the day.  This week we are learned about the letter G.  Today the weather was just too gorgeous for us to not take advantage of it, so we played outside extra long today!

Enjoy our pictures and reading about what we did today!

Free Choice Time
We had a fabulous free choice time today our best yet on a Wednesday.  It was hard to tell all my friends it was time to clean up because we had such a great time during free choice time.  Play is such an important part of early childhood and playing is how we are learning.  Today we listened to some fall classical music by various classical musicians.

Puzzles
We love puzzles and they are always offered in the classroom.

Trains
We are huge fans of trains in here and we have loved having the train table out and being able to build lots of different tracks with our trains.  It is a great way for us to work on our problem solving skills and creativity skills.

Orange Play dough
We loved playing with the orange play dough and making all types of Halloween cut outs.

Imaginative Play

Mr. Potato Heads
These are a great way to work on our fine motor skills as well as learning about the different parts of our bodies.

Painting
This morning we painted orange leaves to hang on our tree in our classroom.  They turned out great be sure and check them out on our wall.

Cutting
We continue to practice our cutting skills as we cut orange paper to fill our jack o'lantern with orange paper.  This is a great way to get use to holding the scissors, strengthening our fingers and hand muscles by opening and closing the the scissors.

More Play
