Mrs. Horn's ELP Classroom Ministering to families in Jesus' love while embracing and enhacing each : Happy Tuesday and Last Day of Summer:(

I hope everyone enjoyed their nice long weekend and you were able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. We had a great day in our classroom and we are continuing to add to our day in terms of what we are doing and learning. We had fun seeing our eighth grade friend do their annual rocket launch and were able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather.

Free Choice: Today we had the opportunity to play with the red play dough that was home made I am hoping that this will last a little longer than our other red play dough did. We explored the classroom as we listened to a selection of different Disney soundtrack songs. A lot of my friends had fun playing with the toys, exploring in the sensory table and using the magnet board. We did a really great job at cleaning up today.

Morning Meeting: We spent doing calendar, Mr. Weather Frog, continuing our study of the number 2, the shape of an Octagon and the color Red. This week our letter journey has sent us to the letter D. We continued to work on our red and green pattern of apples and we had fun singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and our ABC's. read a book that talked about going apple picking and we concluded with our snack prayer and putting our apple with our name on it on the basket.

Jesus Time: Today we learned what God created on the fourth and fifth day he created the sun, moon and stars and the birds and fishes. When he was done he said that this was GOOD! We began our Jesus Time with singing our Read the the Bible Song, we then read our Bible Story and then worked on continuing to learn the words to THE BIBLE and JESUS LOVES ME. We concluded our Jesus time with the following echo prayer: Dear God, Thank you for the sun, moon and stars and for the fish in the waters and the birds in the sky. In your name we pray, Amen. We then played a Creation Matching Game where we had to match the correct day wit each day that God created.

Outside: We were able to get outside and play for about 30 minutes and we were busy running, jumping, climbing, riding and playing with our friends from the other classes.

Circle Time: We read a book about silly animals and what they do from A-Z. After our story we worked on a sizing activity of different sized apples, Big, Medium and Small.

Center time we focused on making a red apple print page using a red apple print sponge to help us remember what the color red looks like. We then used the bingo daubers to complete the next letter in our alphabet book the letter D. We worked on finding an octagon on a school bus and using a bingo dauber to find it and then worked on our coloring skills as we colored the school bus yellow. We also worked on the 4th day of creation in our creation books that we are making and will be bringing home in a few weeks. We also colored a picture of a dog to help us with the letter D.

Music and Movement we had fun dancing to Five Days Old and doing Hands are for Clapping. We also did another awesome job of cleaning up the toys after our center time. We finished up our time together reading the book I LOVE TRAINS and had some lunch!
