We have truly been blessed with beautiful weather and looks like it is here to stay for a while. We are enjoying as much as we can outside as we know that winter will be here before we know it and we will be longing for the days to get outside. We had fun today celebrating the first day of Fall! We made a Happy Fall sign that will be displayed in our room. We used small fall stamps to decorate the beginning of Fall.
Free Choice: Today we had the opportunity to play with the red play dough that was home made I am hoping that this will last a little longer than our other red play dough did. We explored the classroom as we listened to a selection of classical and opera music. My friends had fun playing with the toys, exploring in the sensory table, playing in the kitchen area, shopping with the shopping cart, walking the dog, and building train tracks.
Morning Meeting: We spent doing calendar, Mr. Weather Frog, continuing our study of the number 2, the shape of an Octagon and the color Red. This week our letter journey has sent us to the letter D. We continued to work on our red and green pattern of apples and we had fun singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and our ABC's. read a book that talked about a leaf being blown around the farm. This helped us learn more about fall as we looked at the trees in the book and how they were changing to different colors. We concluded with our snack prayer and putting our apple with our name on it on the basket.
Jesus Time: Today we learned what God created on the fourth and fifth day he created the sun, moon and stars and the birds and fishes. When he was done he said that this was GOOD! We began our Jesus Time with singing our Read the the Bible Song, we then read our Bible Story and then worked on continuing to learn the words to THE BIBLE and JESUS LOVES ME. We concluded our Jesus time with the following echo prayer: Dear God, Thank you for the sun, moon and stars and for the fish in the waters and the birds in the sky. In your name we pray, Amen. We then played a Creation Matching Game where we had to match the correct day wit each day that God created.
Outside: We were able to get outside and play for about an hour and we were busy running, jumping, climbing, riding and playing with our friends from the other classes. We also had an opportunity to see what our preschool friends were doing outside and had fun seeing a cute little dog that they had visiting their room to help learn about the fire house.
Circle Time: We read a book about dinosaurs dancing to help us with the letter D. We saw some pretty silly dinosaurs with tutus and dance clothes on. After we finished our book we listened to the Apple Happy story to help us with our different emotions we concluded our circle time together with each child being called and telling me how old they were as they went to find an activity to do.
Center time we focused on making a green apple print page using a green apple print sponge even though we are studying the color red this month we talked about how apples can be different colors and how they might all taste different. We then used the bingo daubers to complete the next letter in our alphabet book the letter D. We did work on our coloring and pre-writing skills with coloring an apple red to help us remember what the color red looks like. We also worked on the 4th day of creation in our creation books that we are making and will be bringing home in a few weeks. We ended our center time with us cutting apples pictures in different directions and then matching them up and gluing them on a piece of paper.
Music and Movement we spent such a long time outside that we did not do any music and movement today but did a great job cleaning up our toys. We read a book about a bunny and his box and all the different things that the bunny made with the box. We finished up our day together with our prayer for lunch .
Enjoy viewing the pictures from our Day!

The train tracks are a big big thing with this class. I love to see all the different types of tracks they build and what they add and take away from their tracks and how long they make their trains.

HAPPY FALL SIGN
We used small fall stamps today. This was a great way for us to work on matching the lid to the right stamp as well as working on our fine motor skill of putting the lids back on the stamps. We had fun seeing what our stamp looked like on our paper! We made a great looking sign and can not wait to hang it up!
