Building with blocks

Drawing masterpieces on the dry erase board

Using the magnet board to learn our letters.

Cutting up a Big Snow Storm
Today we cut white strips of paper to make a snow storm.  Cutting with scissors is an activity that we do every week.  Learning how to hold the scissors and open and close them gives them a little push for them to be be prepared for preschool.  We did a great job using the scissors to day and you can check out our snow storms in the hallway.

Playing with Play Dough

Puzzles
We love to do puzzles they are a great problem solving skills for our little friends to work on.

 Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Today with Mrs. Wegener we stamped 6 yellow stars on a piece of paper to help us count 1 to 6. We sing the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star every day and so many of our friends were able to sing the song when they were working at this center.

 Letter Q
Today we worked on the letter Q in our Alphabet books.  Q words were hard to come up with but we did a great job making the Q sound. Alphabet books will come home at the end of the school year

Morning Meeting
Happy Wednesday!

Today we talked about the color our square was for our calendar and that we had a 1 and 3

Mr Weather Frog was ready for the cold weather we had today

Our Theme Boards

Our White Board

Our pattern we are working on this month

Singing our ABC's and learning about the letter Q

We read this story about a little stuffed bear who accidently ended up outstide in the snow.

Transition
This month we are putting star stickers on a piece of paper.  We are waiting for our name to be called and then we have to identify the color of the star and then place it on the board.  This activity is helping us with our listening skills, following directions and color identification.  We are also working on our fine motor skills as we have to place the sticker onto the paper

Look at what a great job we did standing in line without any markings on the floor!  One step closer to getting ready for preschool.

Jesus Time
Today we reviewed the Christmas Story and then read what happened to Jesus after the Wise men visited him and brought him three gifts.  We found out that some bad people wanted to hurt Jesus, so his mom Mary and Dad Joseph had to travel to Egypt to stay safe.  We also sang Jesus Loves Me and the B-I-B-L-E and said the following echo prayer Dear God, Thank you for the birth of your son Jesus in your name we pray. Amen.

 MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
We had fun shaking our bodies down and Walking like Dinosaurs we couldn't go to the commons today so we had lots of fun singing and dancing in our room twice today.

Circle Time
We read a book about counting 10 spots on the dalmations and we had fun doing our flannel board story about 6 penguins.

Center Time & Free Choice Time

COLORING PENGUINS
Today we used our crayons to color a scene with three penguins on it.  We worked on holding our crayon, using different colors and working on staying inside the lines.  These are hanging in our hallway be sure and check them out.

Funning Playing with big blocks

Reese a future teacher, she was practicing reading to the class!

 PENGUINS
Today we used circle stickers to help decorate a penguin.  We used black stickers for the penguins feathers, white feathers for their tummies and orange feathers for their feet.  This center allowed us to work on our fine motor skills as we had to place the stickers in the correct area and hold the stickers in our fingers.  We also worked on our color matching skills of orange, black and white.  We also were able to incorporate the number 6 we are studying about into placing the 6 black stickers onto the feathers of our penguins.

Decorating Snowflakes
Today we decorated snowflakes with bingo dauber to makes some beautiful snowflakes for our wall.  Be sure and check them out in the kitchen area of our classroom.  Using the bingo daubers was a lot of fun we got to choose which colors we wanted to use and we ended up with some very beautiful snowflakes.

Painting A Snowstorm
Today we used little squishy balls to make a snow storm this is a two step project.  Next week will be making a penguin to put in our snowstorm.  These will be displayed in our church lobby the weekend before Lutheran's Schools Week.
