WOW! It is so hard to believe that the first
semester is almost over. Where have the
last few months gone. It is so amazing
to see how much my little friends have grown over these past few months. With that being said it is also hard to
believe that our time with Mrs. Linneman is coming to an end. We wish Mrs. Linneman many beautiful
blessings and she continues along her journey of getting her education degree. She will be greatly missed when we return in
January. We spent our day today having
lots of fun with her and soaking in the last of our time with her.
We
had a lot of fun playing with our friends talking about the birth of Jesus and
what we will be doing over our Christmas break.
We had fun during center time painting, gluing and glittering! We also had the opportunity to make a special
treat for Santa’s reindeer. Some of my
friends made reindeer food today and the rest of them will make it later in the
week.
Enjoy
reading about our day and viewing all of the fun we had. Please be sure to wish Mrs. Linneman good
luck when you see her this week.
Jesus Time: Today we continued Christmas Story and with the help
of visual aides we learned how Mary and Joseph had to make a long journey to Bethlehem
and when they arrived their was no room for them at the inn. But they did find a stable that the innkeeper
told them they could rest at and that is where Baby Jesus was born!
During our center time we started making our own nativity scene
with stickers.
Number: We continued learning about the number 5 today. During Morning Meeting we looked at what the
number 5 looks like and then we practiced counting to 5. We counted 5 fingers,
rubbed our bellies 5 times, stomped our feet 5 times and jumped up and down
five times. We then counted 5 red
Christmas Stockings.
During Center Time we counted 5 green triangles and glued them to
make a Christmas tree. We also decorated
a gingerbread house with bingo dauber matching color with the correct
number. We used 5 of each color and
counted as we bingo daubed away!
Shape: We are learning about a Triangle during December. We talked about how a triangle has 3 sides
and how a lot of times you can make a Christmas tree out of triangles.
We had 5 green triangles during center time that we used to glue
and make a Christmas tree.
Color: Green was reviewed
during our Morning Meeting and instead of filling our color board with green
objects we charted what we saw or could fine green in our classroom.
We had fun during center time painting a paper plate green to make
a Christmas wreath we then used red glitter so we could make 5 berries on our
wreath
Music and Movement: We also had fun singing our ABC’s, twinkle
Little Star. We sang Happy Birthday to
Jesus and during free choice we found my jingle bells and had lots of fun
singing Jingle Bells really loud! We
were so busy today doing so many activities that we didn’t have time for a lot
of movement.
Outside Time: We did not go outside today the cold wind kept us from going
outside so we ran to the commons in the main building and played with our other
PDO friends and then went for a walk around the main school.
Patterning: We continued
working on our pattern of the month of candy cane and Ornaments. We had fun saying the words and counting to
10!
Science and Sensory: The
sensory table was filled with all different types of things we may see at
Christmas time. It will be opened each
day for the children, to touch, look and feel what we may see at
Christmas. Ask them what they saw in the
table. More new Christmas Vocabulary
words to learn….
During center time we had fun making reindeer food for Santa’s
reindeer on Christmas Eve night. We also
made our own reindeer as we painted our feet and hands to complete this
project.
Enjoy the pictures from our day!
